Director's Letter

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you and your staff to join us this summer for the 32nd annual NYSACAC Summer Institute at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York.

With each passing year, it seems that the challenges of our profession continue to multiply. Indeed, the vocation of college admissions counseling has become synonymous with change. The skills we apply to our jobs, the tools we use, and the populations we serve, are continually evolving. As we strive to do our professional best in this dynamic work environment, it is necessary to constantly expand and modify our knowledge base.

Summer Institute is a 4 day intensive mentor-based program that brings college admission professionals (0-3yrs), high school and CBO counselors new to the college process together to work with energetic and seasoned mentors to grapple with a wide variety of admission counseling issues. As a participant, you will share expertise, develop creative approaches to new and not-so-new problems, establish networks and review ethical standards for our profession.

We are certain that the unique combination of a vibrant curriculum and a diverse group of participants and mentors will offer you a refreshing and rewarding experience. It’s an exciting way to begin a new school year. We hope that you will join us!
