NYSACAC Scholarship Application-2016

Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to three deserving students who have overcome barriers, succeeded with limited resources or are under-represented.  If you know of any students who will be starting college in the Fall of 2016 and fit the criteria, we urge you to nominate him/her.

Eligible students must meet all of the following criteria:

•    Be a resident of New York State
•    Have/Will Be:
               º Graduated from a New York State public or private secondary school; or
               º Completed a home-schooled program in New York State; or
               º Obtained a GED
•    Be nominated by a NYSACAC member (If you are not a member of NYSACAC, please visit here to become a member of NYSACAC.)
•    Enroll in a 2 or 4-year undergraduate program beginning Fall 2016 at a NYSACAC member college or university within New York State
(the award recipient will be expected to provide official proof of matriculation)
•    Have submitted an application and essay by May 6, 2016

2016 Essay Question: In 500 words or less please answer one of the following essay topics:
1. Illustrate how you have overcome barriers.
2. The NYSACAC Motto is Leading the Way. In your life, how have you led the way?
3. Tell us about the person who has influenced you most through the college admission process.
