2025 Elections
Welcome to the 2025 NYSACAC Executive Board nomination process. This year, the membership will once again self-nominate to be considered for an elected position to the Executive Board. Self-nominations for elected positions can be submitted until Friday, January 31, 2025, at 5 p.m. To be eligible, you must be an active member of NYSACAC in good standing.
The Nominating Committee will present the slate to the Executive Board for approval by February 14, 2025. Once approved, the slate will be made available to the membership and the deadline to cast a ballot will be Friday, March 14, 2025, at 5 p.m.
The positions available for the 2025 Election are:

President-Elect This role in the governance structure involves leadership at both the state and national levels. The President-Elect is responsible for the planning of the annual conference, and for providing regular updates to the membership and Executive Board. The President-Elect is a member of the Affiliate Presidents Council (APC), a body composed of Presidents, Immediate Past Presidents, and Presidents-Elect for the state and regional associations. The Affiliate Presidents Council typically in person meets twice annually for leadership development and related activities. There are virtual meetings and trainings throughout the year. The term of office for President-Elect is one year.

VP for Communications This role in the governance structure involves duties primarily at the state level; however, it oversees the multimedia representation of the association which impacts the association at both the state and national levels. The term of office for Vice President for Communications is three years.

Secretary This role in the governance structure involves duties primarily at the state level and is one of consistent service to its members. Due to the importance of archiving all documents of the Association, the Secretary must pay close attention to detail, be thorough and consistent, and attend all scheduled meetings. The term of office for Secretary is two years.

Regional Representatives: 1 Secondary (Region 2) and 2 College (Regions 1 and 2) are open for the 2025 Election As elected officers of the NYSACAC Executive Board, Regional Representatives help perform the business of the Association, and they provide resources for the larger regional constituency of members across six regions of the state (see below). Regional Representatives are voting members of the Executive Board who will speak for the membership in their respective region. The term of office for Regional Representative is three years.

Region 1 Consists of: Nassau County, Suffolk County Region 2 Consists of: Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island Region 3 Consists of: Dutchess County, Orange County, Putnam County, Rockland County, Sullivan County, Ulster County, Westchester County Region 4 Consists of: Albany County, Clinton County, Columbia County, Delaware County, Essex County, Fulton County, Greene County, Hamilton County, Montgomery County, Otsego County, Rensselaer County, Saratoga County, Schenectady County, Schoharie County, Warren County, Washington County Region 5 Consists of: Broome County, Cayuga County, Chemung County, Chenango County, Cortland County, Franklin County, Herkimer County, Jefferson County, Lewis County, Madison County, Oneida County, Onondaga County, Oswego County, Schuyler County, Seneca County, St. Lawrence County, Tioga County, Tompkins County Region 6 Consists of: Allegany County, Cattaraugus County, Chautauqua County, Erie County, Genesee County, Livingston County, Monroe County, Niagara County, Ontario County, Orleans County, Steuben County, Wayne County, Wyoming County, Yates County
Members will self-nominate for a Representative position within the region their institution resides. The only exception will be members who work remotely, or are regionally based, who will be eligible to represent the region in which they reside. During the election, members will be eligible to vote in the same region they are eligible to represent.
2025 Awards
The Nominating Committee is also responsible for the awards presented each year at the NYSACAC Annual Conference. The awards nomination process will be open from March 31 until April 25. More information will be shared when the award nomination process is available. The awards for 2025 include:
- The President's Award is given to an individual who, over a period of years, has performed outstanding service to NYSACAC, to our profession, and to the community.
- The Distinguished Service Award is awarded to individuals who have given exceptional service to our profession. Three awards are given in this category: College, High School, and Community Based Organization.
- The Inclusion, Access, and Success Award is given to an individual or program that champions the issues of access, making post-secondary opportunities available to historically underrepresented students.
- The Rising Star Award honors individuals and programs that exemplify excellence and dedication to serving the needs of students in the transition from high school to college. Preference will be given to those who have worked in the field for no more than five years. They must be new members who are striving to make a difference within the association through their work in committees.
Members are eligible to self-nominate or nominate other members for an award. The deadline to submit an award nomination is Friday, May 9, 2025, at 5 p.m.
